Pearl of Northern Italy

Hi there!

Today I want to show you the most romantic place in Northern Italy, as you may guess I’m thinking about beautiful Venice :)

Venice has more than 270.000 inhabitants and it`s built on an archipelago of 117 islands formed by 177 canals in a shallow lagoon, connected by 409 bridges that`s why the main mean of transport is boats called Gondola.

When you are visiting Venice you obviously have to start from the “Piazza San Marco” known in English as St Mark’s square. It is the heart of the city where you can find the Basilica di San Marco, the cathedral of Venice which is the most famous of the city’s churches and one of the best known examples of Byzantine architecture.

Next you can go to the Doge’s Palace. It was built in Venetian Gothic style. The monumental entrance to the palace known as “Porta della Carta” was created by Giovanni and Bartolomeo Bon in 1438.

Another special place in the city is the Ponte di Rialto known as Rialto Bridge. It is one of the four bridges spanning the Grand Canal in Venice. It was built in 1591. Maybe you won’t believe but that that was the only bridge until 1854 that allowed to cross the Grand Canal by foot!

There is more magnificent places and every next alley is different and more magical. When you are walking them it could be the greatest time of your live due to many fabulous places around every corner. Everyone will find there something entertaining - to prove all of that, I post a video with some great shots in Venice, I hope you`ll love it.
