Recently, I’ve read a very interesting article
about Seoul in South Korea, what inspired me to share with you some information
about this country.
When you hear somewhere the following words: “South Korea”, what are you thinking
about?
I suppose, that at first place it is:
technology, LG group, Samsung, language, Hyundai isn’t that?
But this country is so
much more than that….
First of all, when you are first time in Seoul
you notice that it’s a calm town. There’s no a lot of people in the city center
during the day, people aren’t in a hurry just like in the most of the biggest
cities all over the world. So, we can ask: Where are all those people who live the city
with 10 million inhabitants?
There are two simple answers – the first one is
that they are in their cars! In Seoul, there’s more than 3
million registered cars, apart from the number of motorcycles and cars from the
cities which are nearby Seoul, from where people are driving to work in Seoul.
And the second one is that they are working.
You have to know that they are workaholics, because one person works on average fifty-five hours.
Seoul is also a clean city. People don’t throw out rubbish on the
streets, even the small ones, such as plastic bags, wipes, cigarette butts.
Smoking is forbidden in the public places. People pay attention to sort out
rubbish.
The inconvenient of the city is that the food
in Seoul is really expensive, for example if you want to eat a fish soup, you
have to pay 150 zloty for two persons. But on the other side transport is
not so expensive
- you can even take a cab. There are two types of cabs. The black ones are just more expensive.
I think that maybe you’ve heard somewhere about
the “Train Pushers”? It’s the most spectacular
profession in the world, but in Korea and many others countries in Asia, it’s
seems to be just like the others types of professions.
This are just
a few curiosities about Seoul. The rest is waiting for you to discover.
So, have a nice trip!!
